LOCATION -
find a beautiful, peaceful space for your garden, it can be a small spot in your garden, part of another garden in your area (i've chose the churchyard) or even a larger area in the park or something. Make sure you find out who owns the land and come up with a short proposal for them, use your enthusiasm & creativeness to convince them! You may need to fundraise the money to make + maintain the garden... always ask for donations from Garden Centres etc : ) x
WHAT TO PUT IN IT -
research (you can do this on the internet easily) symbolic items to put in there... plants, tree's, sculpture's, water feature's etc... like the 'Peace Rose' or 'Angel' sculpture. Things that relate to what kind of 'message' you want to share through the garden... the possibilities are endless : ) x
GET THE COMMUNITY INVOLVED -
hold a meeting in your village/town etc to tell them your idea's & colllect thier skills. Ask local schools/pre-schools to get involved with making things to go in the garden, fundraising, projects to 'maintain' the garden... the more the merrier : ) x
GATHERINGS -
the 21st September (every year) is the (UN) International Day of Peace so what better day to all gather together and enjoy your garden. Read poems, sing, dance, say prayers etc. Celebrate Mother Nature... If the local schools are involved they could put on a play : ) x
MAINTENANCE -
you will need some keen volunteers to help maintain your garden as we all know it will need to grow but be kept tidy. You will need a regular 'fund' to do this or maybe donations of plants etc : ) x
ENCOURAGE OTHERS -
Tell as many people about your garden as possible, to encourage others to do the same. Get the local media & press down every Peace Day or for the 'opening'. Take as many photo's as you can from all seasons and share.... we need to get the message of PEACE out there! : ) x
MEDITATION -
your garden will be a perfect place for Meditation, Reflection & Shairng your Love & Light....
Mother Nature needs our help ......... Happy Gardening! : ) xx
