Have you ever found it much easier to help others than to help yourself ?

I have.

ESPECIALLY in business.

For some reason, I just could never manage to master the "Look at ME!, Look at ME!" thing.

Not that I don't value my own work or consider myself inferior in any way... it's just that I was always taught humilty when I was young... and after 53 years, it has become very difficult for me to change my ways.

Unfortunately, that doesn't bode well in business where one is supposed to use every trick in the book to extract the maximum dollars out of customers. Where other "successful" salesmen would tell customers everything they wanted to hear, I would instead give them the honest truth about the situation, the service or the product.

And the whole thing about "there are no friends in business" never sat right with me either. I remember the very first time I heard that, I thought "What... so everyone in business is an ENEMY ?"

None of it made sense to me - and even now, when I go through it all in my mind, I STILL arrive at the same conclusion.

Business is all about EXCHANGE - exchange of money, goods and services.

Now why should it be set up so that only ONE party gets benefit ?

Yet, this is what I see going on all over the place!
