Being a ripple...

Hello. Wanted to share with this community a project I recently started and finished. I've long had a passion for music and have recently begun attempting to express that side of myself. I've dabbled a bit in the past, but this is the first song I've completed(tentatively speaking). I then quickly learned some of the ins and outs of windows movie maker and using several images I've collected over the years, managed to produce this. It tells a story of sorts... that of a glorious day. Any day.…See More

Please introduce yourself to all of us.
Hey there! I know I'm a little offbeat - and it might at times be hard to know exactly what platform I'm standing on, and that is because I have come to learn enough to realize, we are in no position to really settle on "absolutes". I used to be a very devout Christian - which is why I know scripture as I do. I really can't consider myself that anymore... I don't see it so much as a "fall from grace" though. Rather, I have continued to dive into the mysteries of God and that eventually took me beyond the Bible(something I believe has become a 'false idol' in many people's life). Beyond the confined ideolatries of dogmatism. To always try and wrap my mind around the nature of God and the universe and our place in all of it.

Some might think I am "new age" however I try to steer away from things of a "new age" nature. I try to follow as much as I'm able, a very rational, practical and logical approach to the nature of things - the only problem with this is that reality isn't very rational... The more we study and try to understand reality - the weirder it gets. I love the weird parts of it. It is the very strangeness of reality - the very impossibility of reality that fans the flames of my passion. I do not have a defined belief system that I lean on with 100% faith. I am humble enough to admit - reality is far bigger and more mysterious than we can really grasp. I don't ever expect my journey will "end" - that I will ever find "THE TRUTH". Instead, I continually seek "THE TRUTH" and I enjoy every step within the journey - a mystery and a miracle all in itself. Rather than settle on any definitive answers, I prefer to think in terms of "ideas". I have lots of them, I consider them all carefully - and weigh them against known evidence. But I do not accept any of them as "doctrine" to the exclusion of the others. Most find it difficult to accept such a seemingly uncertain mental state, but I have found it highly useful for making connections that others might have missed.

I also tend to ramble on and on as you can see ;).
